Katowice joined the group of cities of the international platform Mix the City
– an British Council interactive online application, which allows you to discover musicians from around the world and create your own unique mix of samples. Among the cities available in the application are already: Hamburg, Moscow, Tel Aviv, Istanbul, Delhi, Kolkata or Mannheim, and this group will expand in 2018 with several new members.

Mix the City is an interactive project implemented by the Institution of Culture Katowice Miasto Ogrodów in cooperation with the British Council under the care of its creator Emmanuel Witzthum and the music curator of the Katowice edition.

The project involves users to create and mix recordings made in a different cities by selected artists. The platform is also a modern tool for promoting the local music scene and an educational venture developing the musicality of users.

A curator (DJ / musician) watches over the artistic dimension of the project and creates the original clip. Katowice’s edition of the project is curated by Obaro Ejimiwe, a British musician known as “Ghostpoet“. He was twice nominated for the prestigious British music industry award – Mercury Prize, he recorded along with Massive Attack, The Streets and Micachu.
