The world’s biggest music fairs will take place in KATOWICE!
In October 2017 Katowice will host one of the most prestigious European music events – WOMEX (World Music Expo).
By choosing Katowice, the WOMEX organisers confirmed our city to be one of the most important music centres not only in Poland, but in Europe as well.

It’s one of the leaders among music industry events, next to MIDEM in Cannes or Jazzahead! in Bremen. Ever year it attracts thousands of world music lovers from all over the world as well as artists and representatives of creative sectors, inviting them to the selective European city. WOMEX means concerts, conferences and trade show intended for both specialists and music lovers.
Katowice is the first Polish city to host this event.
WOMEX is a grand-scale event. Last year’s edition in Santiago de Compostela hosted over 2500 delegates representing 1500 businesses from 90 countries. 280 artists coming from 50 countries played their music on 7 stages. Last but not least, 320 journalists from Spain and abroad visited WOMEX.
WOMEX was organised for the first time in 1994. Former editions took place in Berlin, Seville and Copenhagen among others.
The WOMEX venues in Katowice will be International Congress Centre and Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra.
